It was the fall of 1989. I was heading off to Whistler. I get a call from Al that he wants to go to Banff. It’s on the way!!
Driving a chevette( the smallest car known to man) we hit the road. After spending a winter at Mount Pakenham together. (Parking lot donuts were always classic). We were looking for bigger slopes and new sights .
With a few clothes and 5 pair of skis on the roof,we were off. I think we got the chevette up to 95km... once or twice !! With stops in St st Marie, Dryden and Moose Jaw we made it to Red Deer to my Aunt’s and a big night out .
Off to Banff the following day. Young and thinking nothing of it, we parked the chevette on Main Street and off we went.
Returning in the AM with no skis on the roof. Somebody cutting off the roof rack. Oooouch !!
A trip Al, that I often reminisce about.
You are a fighter my friend. Your strength and courage so admirable.
