So I ended up in line for the Whistler Gondola with D'Arcy, Sean, Al, (Bubba maybe?)and perhaps a couple other stragglers early on opening day in 2017. If anyone remembers that one...well...opening day was probably the best day of the season! The stoke was high with Al that's for sure and you were especially going mad when the Gondola stopped a tower away from the top!!! It was the first and only time I skied with you and I thought, well, wow, this guy really loves his pow LOL. Eventually we got the goods and after a lap down Seppos, you said to me, "well you ski like you mountain bike! I'll ski with you anytime!" Haha. I passed the test! A great memory of how you just live for it, Al! And a great reminder, thank you. I know how much so many love you and I send all of them, you and your family all the love in the world. Claire ❤️

On Thursday June 10th, 2021, in the twelfth round of a ten year match, just before the ding of the bell, Al Paul packed up his big heart, stubborn soul, radiant smile, crossed the ropes, and walked away from his battle with brain cancer.
Al left the world the way he lived in it, on his own terms and with his wife and son by his side. “Armed with will, and determination and grace too.”
He is neck deep in powder now, or shooting the round of his life with any angel lucky enough to join him.
Al wanted everyone to know that life is beautiful, worth every adventure you
say yes to, and a perfect day can be as large as a long walk up a mountain or as simple as a movie day on the couch with the people you love. Also (and he really can’t stress this enough): He was the best skier on the mountain.
