Al! I don’t remember how we met, which can’t be held against me as I’m pretty sure that we both are brain fog pro-stars:) 🌟
We never met during all our years in Whistler until we both were on our brain tumour journeys. I do recall that my diagnosis came up three years after you had started because you shared your amazing story of ups and downs with brain cancer especially your most joyful moments with your three year old son, Colt.
I still don’t know any other person with a brain tumour and your wild ride has shown me the basic skills to live in the cancer world and your humour, positivity and kindness demonstrates to me the best attitude.
Yes, you drove me nuts constantly inviting be to the monthly brain tumour group but once I started attending it was worth it as your comments always made me smile and giggle. And mostly, I am thankful for our one-on-one time whether it was a Whistler beer or randomly bumping into each other at the BCCA. Thanks for sharing your advice and listening to me whether I was happy, scared or full of tears! Since I left Whistler a few years ago, your Facebook posts and pics keep inspiring me to live a full life especially with family, friends and play - your skiing, biking, golfing..etc…etc…etc! Oh man, Al, you are a true Thriver!
Big hugs and lots of love to you, Heather and Colt! ❤️
Love, Karen
