Al Paul...the Legend...the Fighter...the Winner! The guy who never gives up. A true inspiration to us all!
Met Al...oh way back when....At Cittas...maybe or at the Alpine house when I was living with Dr. Dave Paul...the guy who wasn’t very good at math! ( or so it seemed whenever we got the bill at Cittas. 😀)
From this time Al was a part of my Whistler life....a part of that family so to speak.
When I returned from Japan he was Natsu’s ( my now wife) first roommate. She quickly learned that the freezer wasn’t only for food. It was also for big bags of weed! She also learned not to bring the raccoons in the house and feed them! Al was her teacher.
Through the years our lives took different paths. He quit drinking and I stepped it up. You know....the ol’ Boot years.
Eventually we all get it under control.
Our paths would continue to cross however...as they did on multiple occasions this winter. He was always ahead of me on Flute!
We also snuck in a ride in Britannia at the end of last summer. Of course he was riding slabs that I opted out on. That is Al. A fighter.
You are a legend my friend And that is how you will be remembered.
See you ahead of me on Flute next season!!
Peace and Love my friend!!
