Not sure if you'll remember it, but that was the first line in one of many texts of support that you sent to D'Arcy last year. It's as applicable now as it was then. Because you, my weird friend, are a true pro. Over the past few years, you've shown all of us what it means to live life to the fullest, how to be there for your friends and family, how to feel your feelings, how to be yourself no matter what, and how not to let the bad shit get you down--at least not without a fight. It's hard to sum up twenty-plus years of friendship in a paragraph or two... we've had some times over the years! I am so grateful to you and Heather for the love and support you showed to D'Arcy and me during his illness. You were always there for D'Arcy - to lend an ear, to make a completely inappropriate joke, and to remind us about what's important. And after D'Arcy died, you were always there when I needed a friend, despite the fact that you were also going through your own hard times. Life is hard, but it's also beautiful, amazing and weird as shit. Thanks for the memories, the laughs and the love. You're one of the good ones, buddy. I love you something fierce, and I promise to keep it weird for you, no matter what.

I had reservations about you coming on the Windy Pass ride last summer, but your mind was made up and there was no talking you out of it. If ever there was a doubt about your strength, grit and determination, you proved yourself on that ride.
